RUReady.ND.Gov

RUReady.ND.gov is a web-based career and educational planning program provided by NDCTE (North Dakota Career and Technical Education) to all K-12 schools and public and tribal postsecondary institutions in ND.

This online tool assists students in career planning including connections to work-based learning experiences, high school and college planning, and financial aid planning. Students take Career Assessments and access their 4- year plans in RUReady.ND through guidance lessons with the Career Advisor and in some CTE classes. ALL students have 24/7 access to this resource to explore on their own too!

Career Exploration Tools

Take quizzes to learn about yourself and what careers your skills, interests, and values might be a good fit for you under the "Learn About You" tab
"Explore Careers"- Search for careers by major, subject area, pay, education level required, etc
"Get a Job"- create a resume, practice interview skills
"CareerViewXR"- immersive career exploration with 3D interactive "tours" of businesses and "day in the life" videos for careers in North Dakota, including jobs like Dental Hygienist, Accountant, HVAC Technician, Agronomist, Law Enforcement and more

Post-Secondary Planning Tools

"Explore Programs and Majors" at schools nationwide
"Explore Schools" Find easy to understand information on Colleges and Universities nationwide, searchable by major, location, type of school, cost, etc. Option to save schools to "Your Portfolio" and compare different selections to each other
"Test Prep"- ACT, ASVAB, AP test prep (FREE practice tests/test review)
"Prepare for College"- read articles about choosing a major, choosing a college, preparing for college during high school, how to apply for college, writing admissions essays and more

High School Planning Tools (4 year plans)

"Plan of Study"- Plan your high school courses to align with post graduation goals (what do colleges need, what does your major need
"High School Planning Checklist" - a year by year checklist for future planning while in High School
"Succeeding in High School"- articles on how to become a more effective speaker, how to write a research paper, study techniques, etc. Links to lots of homework/subject based help sites

Financial Aid Planning

"Financial Aid 101"
"Financial Aid Calculators"- determine your SAI Student Aid Index number
"Find Scholarships"- search tool to find nationwide scholarships that match your criteria
"Financial Aid Planning Timeline"- get info on where to start (the earlier the better!) in determining ways you can finance your education after high school
"Financial Fitness" - learn basics about money management and budgeting strategies
"Financial Aid Wizard"- walks you through applying for the FAFSA, comparing financial aid award letters from universities, applying for and understanding student loans
