Career Center

The Career Center is a resource for students and parents. Students have an opportunity to learn about their interests, career possibilities, and strategies to reach their career goals. Each high school has a Career Center that is staffed by a Career Advisor. The Career Advisor collaborates with the high school counselors and CTE teachers to provide career guidance to students.

Service Learning Experiences

High school students can earn credit through educational opportunities that happen beyond the typical classroom setting. Contact the Career Advisor or your School Counselor for more information. 

Job Shadowing

The Career Center offers job shadow experiences for students in 10-12th grade. Through this experience, students can spend a few hours with a professional in a career of interest to gain first-hand information about the occupation and necessary post-secondary training.

Students are required to complete an application and a job shadow packet as part of their experience. In addition, they are responsible for completing school assignments prior to the experience. Please note that not all job shadow requests can be arranged due to employer confidentiality and liability issues.

Enrichment Opportunities

Our community is lucky to have a lot of exciting learning opportunities offered for growth and extra enrichment for students.  Colleges, Businesses, and other Organizations offer workshops, camps, visit days, and more that help our learners grow and make educated decisions for their future plans.  Check the link "Enrichment Opportunities" to see the opportunities that are shared with SHS learners.
