Head Coach Huanzhong (Dan) Gu
Coach Gu brings a wealth of experience and strong ties within the Metro Area tennis community to the Sheyenne High School Boys Tennis Team. In his first season as head coach of the Sheyenne Girls Tennis Team this past spring, he led the team to a runner-up finish in the Eastern Dakota Conference (EDC), with several standout individual performances — including his daughter, Sarea, capturing the state singles championship.
Outside of tennis, Coach Gu serves as a senior software developer in the Psychology Department at North Dakota State University, where he creates and maintains software tools that support innovative research across a variety of psychological disciplines.
With a deep passion for player development and a clear vision for the program, Coach Gu is dedicated to continuing Sheyenne’s tradition of excellence while fostering a competitive, supportive, and growth-focused environment for all players.
